Stage 01
North Malé
Historic reefs, caves, wrecks and cleaning stations
The start of the expedition
A classic that is never the same twice
North Malé brings together some of the Maldives’ most established dive sites. Its channels feed reefs with an extraordinary density of fish, while walls, caves and pinnacles provide remarkably varied profiles in a single day.
Resident reef life and pelagic species make this a complete introduction: reef fish, groupers, moray eels, turtles, white-tip reef sharks and, at selected sites, manta rays.
Highlights
Banana Reef
An iconic reef with coral, schools of fish, overhangs and sheltered areas.
HP Reef
Coral-covered caves and crevices, current and abundant marine life.
Manta Point
A cleaning station visited by manta rays depending on season and conditions.
Maldives Victory
A deep wreck colonised by coral and frequented by fusiliers, groupers and batfish.
